The Upcoming Blue Collar Boom
The Upcoming Blue Collar Boom
Recently, I sat down with Sean Kelly on his podcast, The Digital Social Hour. When you get a moment, I highly recommend checking out the episode. During our conversation, we started talking about the blue-collar industry and agreed it's about to experience a boom.
Think about it. If our efforts to drum up interest in the skilled trades pay off, we’ll be helping build a better America. Our roads will be paved. Our homes will be built. Our cars will be fixed. And a lot more people in this country will enjoy great careers focused on working with their hands, without the burden of college debt.
But if our efforts don’t succeed, those already in the skilled trades are going to be busier than ever. I’ve seen this firsthand while trying to secure a roofer. It’s been weeks, but they’re so in demand that I’m still awaiting a return call. While it’s a minor annoyance, the feeling is quickly replaced with optimism, knowing that people still rely on the skilled trades.
What about you? Do you think there’s a boom coming for the blue-collar industry? Because I sure do.
