The Sweet Truth About Blue-Collar Jobs
The Sweet Truth About Blue-Collar Jobs
There’s a phrase marketing people love to use this time of year: “No tricks. Just treats”
While it’s cute, and pretty effective, it got me thinking: is there really anything out there that’s truly no tricks just treats?
Immediately, I thought of candy. Candy is a treat, sure, but it’s also a lot of sugar and calories you’ll have to work off later. The more I thought about it, though, nothing really fit. The closest thing I could think of was the tried and true blue-collar industry.
In the blue-collar world, the only “trick” to success isn’t even really a trick. It’s a mindset. You just have to be willing to work hard and put in the effort. Do that, and you get to enjoy all the treats: a real career making a real impact on the world.
Seriously, collision repair technicians, plumbers, carpenters, mechanics, and every blue-collar worker makes the world go round. And you can earn a real living in the skilled trades. Maybe even be that house on the block that gives out full-sized candy bars. Best of all, you won’t be weighed down by student loan debt.
Just something to think about.
Blue Collar: Just one trick, and it’s really just a mindset. All treats. (Might need to workshop that line later. For now, it’s time to go trick-or-treating.)
Happy Halloween, everybody!
